Westmont High School in Campbell serves a student body that includes families from Campbell, Los Gatos, and surrounding communities, a corridor where the college-going culture is strong and the range of college destinations is wide. Westmont graduates go on to UC campuses, CSU schools, private colleges, and community college transfer programs. Michael's preparation is calibrated to each student's actual college list, not to a generic score benchmark.
The Los Gatos and Campbell corridor provides access to South Bay test centers in San Jose and Cupertino. Bay Area centers fill 5 to 6 weeks before test day. Westmont students should register for test dates as soon as the registration window opens.
Michael has worked with students from the Los Gatos-Saratoga Union High School District and the Campbell Union High School District for nearly three decades. The communities these schools serve are different in character. Saratoga carries different academic norms than Campbell, but the test preparation challenges are consistent: identifying where each student's specific gap is, building the right preparation plan, and managing test-day performance so that preparation translates to actual scores.
The ACT's 2025 format. Science optional, two hours total, is worth considering for Westmont students who have a strong composite without Science. Michael evaluates both tests during the free trial and makes a recommendation based on actual diagnostic data. For Westmont students who have taken one test and want to know whether switching is worth it, the trial diagnostic gives a concrete answer.
The Trial Session
The free trial on Zoom includes a diagnostic, direct work with Michael, and a follow-up call with both student and parent. Michael presents a specific recommendation: which test gives the student the best opportunity, how far their score may be able to go, a recommended training plan, and which upcoming test dates are most strategic. No financial commitment until both sides agree.
Every Session
Sessions are two hours long and combine individualized coaching, structured practice, and timed work using official SAT and ACT material. Students stay actively engaged while receiving ongoing guidance and feedback from Michael throughout the session. No homework.
The Guarantee
Students who complete the agreed program and are not satisfied with their results continue at no additional cost after the agreed session cap until they are satisfied or available testing opportunities have been exhausted.

Preparation timelines vary based on a student’s goals and starting point. Some students begin as early as January of their sophomore year, particularly those with National Merit goals. Many students begin preparation during the summer before junior year, with the period after July 4th being a common starting point. Students entering senior year often begin preparation during the summer before senior year, depending on their goals and testing plans. Michael’s free trial session includes a diagnostic and personalized recommendation based on each student’s individual situation.
Several test centers are available across the South Bay and Peninsula. Check current availability at collegeboard.org (SAT) or act.org (ACT). Bay Area centers fill 5 to 6 weeks before test day.
