One-On-One Zoom ACT Test Prep Tutoring – Test Prep Classes Currently Online During the COVID-19 Pandemic

 
Until further notice, test prep classes are held through the online platform Zoom. The length and the cost of the online test prep sessions will be the same as the usual in-person test prep classes.
 
Now, the student will not study in groups, but he or she will work from home. The student will not sit with me in person; instead, he or she will meet with me via the online platform Zoom.
 
Sessions will continue to be scheduled the same way at http://www.mrtestprep.acuityscheduling.com
 
The Zoom link and instructions will be included in the scheduled appointment confirmation notices.
 
When recommended practice tests will be taken at home and reviewed in our test prep classes.
 
You are going to be invoiced via e-mail.
 
This too shall pass hopefully sooner than later. In the meanwhile, be safe and calm amid the chaos.

Unfortunately for me, I  am one of those people who do practice tests perfectly but score badly on actual tests. I just get jitters whenever I get to the testing room. Micheal realized this after my diagnostic test and recommended I meditate before taking the SAT or ACT. I was apprehensive during our practice sessions but I diligently practiced meditation at home. Finally, when it got to testing day I was unusually calm. Never beforehand was I that tranquil before taking a test, normally my heart pounds, my hands get sweaty, and I can’t think. On that day I felt as if everything was a walk in the park, everything came to me and nothing felt rushed. In the end, I was able to score a 35 on the ACT stress-free. What also helped my nervousness was Michael testing room. It was a perfect place to practice the SAT and ACT: full of students, quiet, and distraction free. It allowed me to simulate how it would feel like in a testing center without the hassle of going to one. In all, without Michael I probably wouldn’t have gotten the score that I got.

For the time being, we are conducting all our free trial sessions and test prep sessions online.
 
For the trial session, we will be connecting using the online platform Zoom.
 
The student is going to need a quiet place where he or she can work for two hours without being disturbed.
 
When you register for a free trial session, the Zoom meeting info will be provided in your confirmation email.
 
I am going to be in contact within the first 15 minutes of the session.

I will connect with a parent and will talk about my test prep suggestions in a follow-up phone call.
 
If your trial session takes place on a Saturday, I am going to contact you between 6 pm and 8 pm on the following Monday. I had gone to over three different standardized testing tutors in the Bay Area since my freshman year. All left me unsatisfied, with mediocre results and my mother constantly reprimanding me for spending so much money on multiple exams and different tutors. On a whim, we tried Mr. Test Prep. Many of my friends had gone to him and raved about how his tutoring style is unique, effective, and definitely worth the money. They all succeeded in their standardized test preps, why shouldn’t I?
I can clearly remember Mr. Test Prep’s response when I said, “I’m no good at math and science.” He said, “Don’t think that way! These questions are easy if you think of them as easy. Let me break ‘em down for you…” Ever since then, the ACT has not intimidated me with the daunting math and science sections. His tricks to make sure I didn’t make any “silly” mistakes even increased my scores to near-perfection in the subjects that I was stronger in – reading, writing, and English! Additionally, the group testing environment was insanely helpful in practicing what to expect during test day. Mr. Test Prep’s unpredictable outbursts of songs and people’s sneezing and coughing inevitably allowed me to block out the irrelevant and focus on the test. Michael Romano is the best. No exceptions. My first experience with SAT prep was with a not-so-great company, so I was at first reluctant to try Mr Test Prep. Boy, was I wrong — I should have started with him from the beginning! In the first half hour of the trial session he told me that I was probably better suited for the ACT. I tried my hand at that instead, and scored significantly higher. Mr Test Prep also helped me prepare for the PSAT, and now I am a National Merit Scholar.
