4 Easy Tips For How To Study Better

Studying does not have to be boring. So many students just look at the same notes on the page or read the same paragraphs over and over. They don’t engage with the material, but still expect to know it on the test. These four tips will help you learn the material and have fun while you study.

 

  • Find a Buddy

 

A study buddy makes everything more fun. You can take turns teaching each other the material. Make a quiz game and try to beat each other. Put on a skit for your friend about the topic. The more fun and creative things you can do together to learn the material, the more memorable it will be. Make sure you choose a friend that you can have fun with and work well with.

 

  • Make a Podcast

 

Podcasts are a popular way to learn about the world. Turn the information you are learning into a captivating podcast, then record it. Writing out a script and speaking the material out loud will help you remember it. Then, you can listen to it again and again, which is another great way to help you remember the material.

 

  • Write a Story

 

Get creative and write a fictional story about the non-fiction material you are learning. Create characters that go through certain events in history and imagine it from their perspective. Rewrite a work of literature in a different setting. Create a story about a chemist that makes an important discovery using the concepts you are learning. Whatever the subject, using the material to create a story will allow your brain to delve deep into the topic and really grasp the material.

 

  • Illustrate

 

If you are a visual learner, draw illustrations for the topics you are learning. You can make a large poster, draw a graphic novel, make a comic strip, or simply doodle characters and concepts. Having a visual tool to study will help you picture the information on your exams.

Use Your Creativity

Don’t continue studying thinking reading and repetition are the only methods for getting good grades. If you have a creative spark, use it. Use your creativity to help you learn and remember the material you are studying. Try something new and you just might have fun.
