Since we had to switch our test prep sessions to an online format in March 2020, we have noticed that our results have been much better. Because of that, we continue to hold SAT and ACT test prep sessions using the online platform Zoom. For more information about how our online format works please see below.
 

Online test prep sessions – How is an online session different?

  • During the online classes, the student does not study in a group setting, but each student studies from home. The student will not sit with me in person; rather, he or she will connect with me online.
  • Online sessions are being scheduled at http://www.mrtestprep.acuityscheduling.com
  • When you schedule your appointments The Zoom link and instructions will be included in the confirmation notifications.
  • When recommended practice tests will be taken from your home and assessed during our test prep sessions.
  • You are going to be invoiced via e-mail.

Michael’s methodology is unlike any other tutor I’ve worked with before, and the results I got with him were unmatchable. The group setting allowed me to go back and forth between working on my own just like a testing setting AND breaking down my sections while they’re fresh in my mind. While many other tutors believe in using homework as a studying tool, whenever I would attend my next session with them, I couldn’t remember why I chose the answers I did. By confining my work to my sessions with Michael, I was able to evaluate my thought process for each answer and correct my mistakes MUCH more efficiently.
 
Rather than most tutor’s standard lesson plan (even for one on one sessions), Michael tailors each session to what that individual student needs. My best sections were tested less frequently, and more time was spent on the sections I struggled with.
 
Michael understands the interplay between testing and his student’s mindset. As someone who struggles with anxiety, I have had extreme difficulty performing well on exams even when I know the material front to back. After two meditation sessions, I meditated every morning and night about a week preceding each of my SAT exams (as well as actually during my SAT) I felt less anxious, more at ease and extremely more confident.
 
What it boils down to is Michael truly understands his students and creates a relationship and bond with them like NO other tutor. He creates a completely safe space where mistakes aren’t scrutinized, they’re looked at as a place to improve. Online Test Prep Trial Sessions
 
Our free trial sessions are held online, as well.
 
Once someone has booked a trial session, we will be meeting using the online platform Zoom.
 
Each student will need a place to work where he or she can remain uninterrupted for two hours.
 
Once you sign up for your free trial session, the Zoom link and instructions will be included in your confirmation notification.
 
I will be present for the first 15 minutes of the trial session.
 

 
After The Trial Session
 
I will get in touch with a parent and will discuss my test prep advice during a follow-up call.
 
If your trial session takes place on Saturday, I will call the parent between 6 pm and 8 pm on the following Monday. And if the trial session is on Sunday, I will contact the parent between 6 pm and 8 pm on the following Tuesday.

I had gone to over three different standardized testing tutors in the Bay Area since my freshman year. All left me unsatisfied, with mediocre results and my mother constantly reprimanding me for spending so much money on multiple exams and different tutors. On a whim, we tried Mr. Test Prep. Michael Romano is the best. No exceptions. My first experience with SAT prep was with a not-so-great company, so I was at first reluctant to try Mr Test Prep. Boy, was I wrong — I should have started with him from the beginning! In the first half hour of the trial session he told me that I was probably better suited for the ACT. I tried my hand at that instead, and scored significantly higher. Mr Test Prep also helped me prepare for the PSAT, and now I am a National Merit Scholar.
