Ever since we had to switch our test prep classes to an online format in March 2020, we have noticed that our results have been much better. Because of that, we continue to offer SAT and ACT test prep sessions online using Zoom. Keep reading to learn more about how our online format is structured.
 

Online test prep sessions – What is different compared to in-person test prep sessions?

  • Instead of studying within a group, he or she works from home. And instead of having a session with me me in person, he or she will do so online.
  • Students can schedule online sessions at http://www.mrtestprep.acuityscheduling.com
  • All the info you will need for accessing the Zoom meeting will be provided in the appointment confirmation emails.
  • When recommended practice tests will be taken from your home and assessed during our test prep classes.
  • You will be billed via email.

I was very opposed to taking the SAT and enrolling in SAT prep when I learned that it was optional for college admissions. I was more comfortable asserting myself as a low performer, and just not great with long form tests. When you imagine a test prep tutor, what kind of person do you think of?
I’m the type of person who never worked well with adults who tried to push me or made me feel stupid, and that’s why I was really reluctant to try SAT prep.
But Michael Romano surprised me by defying the stereotype of the traditional harsh, nitpicky tutor time and time again. He never forces students to study or do homework assignments, and because he did not, I felt genuinely inspired to put in the effort on my own behalf. Rather than someone else driving my progress, I felt as though I held the reigns to my own improvement on the SAT.
I won’t talk about how Michael comes up with neat strategies for the trickiest of math and reading problems, how he’s an endlessly patient teacher, or how he made every seemingly impossible question look easy and conquerable. Once you have scheduled a trial session, we will be connecting through the online platform Zoom.
 
Each student is going to require a place to work where he or she can remain uninterrupted for two hours.
 
When you register for your free trial session, the Zoom link and instructions will be included in your confirmation email.
 
I am going to be present for the first 15 minutes of the trial session.

I will get in touch with a parent and will talk about my test prep recommendations in a follow-up phone call.
 
If the trial session takes place on a Saturday, I am going to contact the parent between 6 pm and 8 pm on the following Monday. In case your trial session is on Sunday, I am going to contact the parent between 6 pm and 8 pm on the following Tuesday.

Mr. Romano is simply the best. Upon entering Mr. Romano’s test prep, I knew little about the SAT. The knowledge and wisdom that I inherited from Michael is truly priceless. I had gone to over three different standardized testing tutors in the Bay Area since my freshman year. All left me unsatisfied, with mediocre results and my mother constantly reprimanding me for spending so much money on multiple exams and different tutors. On a whim, we tried Mr. Test Prep. I can clearly remember Mr. Test Prep’s response when I said, “I’m no good at math and science.” He said, “Don’t think that way! These questions are easy if you think of them as easy. Michael Romano is the best. No exceptions. My first experience with SAT prep was with a not-so-great company, so I was at first reluctant to try Mr Test Prep. Boy, was I wrong — I should have started with him from the beginning! In the first half hour of the trial session he told me that I was probably better suited for the ACT. I tried my hand at that instead, and scored significantly higher. Mr Test Prep also helped me prepare for the PSAT, and now I am a National Merit Scholar.
