We have seen our best test prep results since switching to an online format in March 2020. Because of that, we continue to conduct ACT and SAT test prep sessions via the online platform Zoom. Following you will find more information about how our online test prep sessions work.
 

Online test prep sessions – How are online test prep classes different?

  • During the online classes, the student does not work in a group setting, but the student works from home. And instead of sitting together with me in the same room, the student will meet with me online.
  • Online sessions will be scheduled at http://www.mrtestprep.acuityscheduling.com
  • The Zoom meeting info will be provided in the scheduled appointment confirmation notifications.
  • When practice tests are recommended, they will be taken from your home and then evaluated during our test prep classes.
  • You are going to be billed via e-mail.

When you imagine a test prep tutor, what kind of person do you think of?
I’m the type of person who never worked well with adults who tried to push me or made me feel stupid, and that’s why I was really reluctant to try SAT prep.
But Michael Romano surprised me by defying the stereotype of the traditional harsh, nitpicky tutor time and time again. He never forces students to study or do homework assignments, and because he did not, I felt genuinely inspired to put in the effort on my own behalf. Rather than someone else driving my progress, I felt as though I held the reigns to my own improvement on the SAT.

Free Trial Sessions Online
 
Our free trial sessions are also conducted online.
 
Once someone has scheduled a trial session, we will be meeting via the online platform Zoom.
 
Each student will require a place to work where he or she will remain uninterrupted for two hours.
 
When you register for your free trial session, all the details needed for accessing the Zoom meeting will be provided in your confirmation email.
 
I will be present for the first 15 minutes of the session.
 

 
What Happens After The Trial Session?
 
I will connect with a parent and will talk about my test prep assessment and recommendations during a follow-up call.
 
In case your trial session is on Saturday, I will contact you between 6 pm and 8 pm on the following Monday. And in case your trial session takes place on Sunday, I will contact you between 6 pm and 8 pm on the following Tuesday.

Mr. Romano is simply the best. Upon entering Mr. Romano’s test prep, I knew little about the SAT. The knowledge and wisdom that I inherited from Michael is truly priceless. I had gone to over three different standardized testing tutors in the Bay Area since my freshman year. All left me unsatisfied, with mediocre results and my mother constantly reprimanding me for spending so much money on multiple exams and different tutors. On a whim, we tried Mr. Test Prep. I can clearly remember Mr. Test Prep’s response when I said, “I’m no good at math and science.” He said, “Don’t think that way! These questions are easy if you think of them as easy. Michael Romano is the best. No exceptions. My first experience with SAT prep was with a not-so-great company, so I was at first reluctant to try Mr Test Prep. Boy, was I wrong — I should have started with him from the beginning! In the first half hour of the trial session he told me that I was probably better suited for the ACT. I tried my hand at that instead, and scored significantly higher. Mr Test Prep also helped me prepare for the PSAT, and now I am a National Merit Scholar.
