In March 2020, we switched our test prep classes to an online format and we have noticed that our results have been much better since. Because of that, test prep sessions continue to be conducted via the online platform Zoom. Below you will find more information about how our online test prep classes are structured.
 

Online test prep classes – How is the online test prep session different?

  • During the online classes, the student does not work in a group setting, but he or she studies from home. The student will not sit with me in person; rather, he or she will meet with me via the online platform Zoom.
  • Online sessions are being scheduled at http://www.mrtestprep.acuityscheduling.com
  • The online SAT/ACT test prep appointment confirmation notices will have all the details you will need to access the Zoom meeting.
  • Whenever practice tests are recommended, they will be taken from your home and then assessed in our test prep sessions.
  • You will be invoiced through e-mail.

Michael’s methodology is unlike any other tutor I’ve worked with before, and the results I got with him were unmatchable. The group setting allowed me to go back and forth between working on my own just like a testing setting AND breaking down my sections while they’re fresh in my mind. While many other tutors believe in using homework as a studying tool, whenever I would attend my next session with them, I couldn’t remember why I chose the answers I did. By confining my work to my sessions with Michael, I was able to evaluate my thought process for each answer and correct my mistakes MUCH more efficiently.
 
Rather than most tutor’s standard lesson plan (even for one on one sessions), Michael tailors each session to what that individual student needs. My best sections were tested less frequently, and more time was spent on the sections I struggled with.
 
Michael understands the interplay between testing and his student’s mindset. As someone who struggles with anxiety, I have had extreme difficulty performing well on exams even when I know the material front to back. After two meditation sessions, I meditated every morning and night about a week preceding each of my SAT exams (as well as actually during my SAT) I felt less anxious, more at ease and extremely more confident.
 
What it boils down to is Michael truly understands his students and creates a relationship and bond with them like NO other tutor. He creates a completely safe space where mistakes aren’t scrutinized, they’re looked at as a place to improve. I improved my SAT score by about 350, but, beyond that, I can look back at my sessions with him and only have positive memories. Going to Michael was one of the best decisions I made. Free Test Prep Trial Sessions Online
 
Our free trial sessions are held online, as well.
 
Once someone has scheduled a trial session, we will be meeting via the online platform Zoom.
 
Each student will need a place to work where he or she can stay uninterrupted for two hours.
 
When you register for your free trial session, all the details needed for the Zoom meeting will be included in your confirmation email.
 
I will be in touch during the first 15 minutes of the trial session.
 

 
After The Trial Session
 
After the trial session, a parent and I will have a follow-up call to talk about my test prep proposal.
 
If the trial session is on a Saturday, I will call you between 6 pm and 8 pm on the following Monday. In case your trial session takes place on a Sunday, I will contact you between 6 pm and 8 pm on the following Tuesday.

I had gone to over three different standardized testing tutors in the Bay Area since my freshman year. All left me unsatisfied, with mediocre results and my mother constantly reprimanding me for spending so much money on multiple exams and different tutors. On a whim, we tried Mr. Test Prep. Michael Romano is the best. No exceptions. My first experience with SAT prep was with a not-so-great company, so I was at first reluctant to try Mr Test Prep. Boy, was I wrong — I should have started with him from the beginning! In the first half hour of the trial session he told me that I was probably better suited for the ACT. I tried my hand at that instead, and scored significantly higher. Mr Test Prep also helped me prepare for the PSAT, and now I am a National Merit Scholar.
