Ever since we had to switch our test prep sessions to an online format in March 2020, we have noticed that our results have been much better. Because of that, test prep classes continue to be offered through the online platform Zoom. For more information about how our online format is structured please see below.
 

Online test prep classes – How are online classes different?

  • Instead of working in a group setting, each student works from home. Instead of meeting me in person, he or she is going to do so online.
  • Students will be able to schedule online sessions at http://www.mrtestprep.acuityscheduling.com
  • The scheduled online SAT/ACT test prep appointment confirmation notifications will have the Zoom meeting information.
  • Whenever it is time for a practice test, it will be taken from your home and then reviewed in our test prep classes.
  • You will be billed via email.

Unfortunately for me, I am one of those people who do practice tests perfectly but score badly on actual tests. I just get jitters whenever I get to the testing room. Micheal realized this after my diagnostic test and recommended I meditate before taking the SAT or ACT. I was apprehensive during our practice sessions but I diligently practiced meditation at home. Finally, when it got to testing day I was unusually calm. Never beforehand was I that tranquil before taking a test, normally my heart pounds, my hands get sweaty, and I can’t think. On that day I felt as if everything was a walk in the park, everything came to me and nothing felt rushed. In the end, I was able to score a 35 on the ACT stress-free. What also helped my nervousness was Michael testing room. It was a perfect place to practice the SAT and ACT: full of students, quiet, and distraction free. It allowed me to simulate how it would feel like in a testing center without the hassle of going to one. In all, without Michael I probably wouldn’t have gotten the score that I got.

The student is going to need a silent place where he or she can work for two hours without getting disturbed.
 
When you book your free trial session, the Zoom link and instructions will be provided.
 
I will be present for the first 15 minutes of the trial session.
 

 
Follow-Up After The Trial Session
 
After the trial session, I will get in touch with a parent and will talk about my test prep suggestions.
 
If your trial session is on a Saturday, I am going to call the parent between 6 pm and 8 pm on the following Monday. And if your trial session takes place on Sunday, I will contact the parent between 6 pm and 8 pm on the following Tuesday.

I had gone to over three different standardized testing tutors in the Bay Area since my freshman year. All left me unsatisfied, with mediocre results and my mother constantly reprimanding me for spending so much money on multiple exams and different tutors. On a whim, we tried Mr. Test Prep. I can clearly remember Mr. Test Prep’s response when I said, “I’m no good at math and science.” He said, “Don’t think that way! These questions are easy if you think of them as easy. Michael Romano is the best. No exceptions. My first experience with SAT prep was with a not-so-great company, so I was at first reluctant to try Mr Test Prep. Boy, was I wrong — I should have started with him from the beginning! In the first half hour of the trial session he told me that I was probably better suited for the ACT.
