Private Zoom SAT Test Prep Mentors – Test Prep During the Coronavirus Pandemic

 
Until further notice, test prep sessions are held online using Zoom. They will last as long and cost the same as our typical test prep sessions do.
 
Now, the student will not study in groups, but he or she will work from home. The student is not going to have a session with me in person; instead, he or she will connect with me through the online platform Zoom.
 
Sessions will continue to be scheduled the same way at http://www.mrtestprep.acuityscheduling.com
 
The scheduled online ACT/SAT test prep appointment confirmation notifications will have the Zoom link and instructions.
 
When recommended practice tests will be taken from your home and then evaluated in our test prep sessions.
 
You will be billed through email.
 
This too shall pass hopefully sooner than later. For now, be safe and calm amid these unprecedented times.

I  took the PSAT in 10th and 11th grade and found it utterly awful. I’ve never been a big fan of standardized tests, but I knew I’d have to take either the ACT or SAT in college. I was nervous about them because I didn’t score as well on the PSAT as I hoped. In 11th grade, I actually did worse on the PSAT than I did in 10th grade. I thought that this was a clear indicator that I would fail the SAT/ACT and wouldn’t get into a college that I loved. I started with Michael after a recommendation from my college counselor. Of course, he taught me how to understand the structure of SAT questions, recognize patterns, and learn proper testing strategies. Michael’s methodology is unlike any other tutor I’ve worked with before, and the results I got with him were unmatchable. The group setting allowed me to go back and forth between working on my own just like a testing setting AND breaking down my sections while they’re fresh in my mind. While many other tutors believe in using homework as a studying tool, whenever I would attend my next session with them,  I couldn’t remember why I chose the answers I did. By confining my work to my sessions with Michael, I was able to evaluate my thought process for each answer and correct my mistakes MUCH more efficiently.
 
Rather than most tutor’s standard lesson plan (even for one on one sessions), Michael tailors each session to what that individual student needs. My best sections were tested less frequently, and more time was spent on the sections I struggled with.
 
Michael understands the interplay between testing and his student’s mindset. As someone who struggles with anxiety, I have had extreme difficulty performing well on exams even when I know the material front to back. After two meditation sessions, I meditated every morning and night about a week preceding each of my SAT exams (as well as actually during my SAT) I felt less anxious, more at ease and extremely more confident.
 
What it boils down to is Michael truly understands his students and creates a relationship and bond with them like NO other tutor. He creates a completely safe space where mistakes aren’t scrutinized, they’re looked at as a place to improve. I improved my SAT score by about 350, but, beyond that, I can look back at my sessions with him and only have positive memories. Going to Michael was one of the best decisions I made. Test Prep Classes Moving Online Due to the COVID-19 Crisis
 
All our free trial sessions and test prep sessions are now conducted online.
 
For the trial session, we will be meeting using the online platform Zoom.
 
To get the most out of the trial session, it is best, if the student can remain uninterrupted for the duration of the two hour trial session.
 
Once you sign up for a free trial session, all the details needed to access the Zoom meeting will be provided.
 
I will be in contact within the first 15 minutes of our trial session.
 

 
What Happens After The Trial Session?
 
After the trial session, I will connect with a parent and will discuss my test prep assessment and recommendations.
 
In case your trial session is on Saturday, I will contact you between 6 pm and 8 pm on the following Monday. And if your trial session is on Sunday, I will call you between 6 pm and 8 pm on the following Tuesday.|In case your trial session is on Saturday, I will contact the parent between 6 pm and 8 pm on the following Monday. Mr. Romano is the best tutor I have ever worked with… EVER!! I had gone to previous SAT prep centers, but none of them gave me the help and results that Mr. Romano did! I had gone to over three different standardized testing tutors in the Bay Area since my freshman year. All left me unsatisfied, with mediocre results and my mother constantly reprimanding me for spending so much money on multiple exams and different tutors. On a whim, we tried Mr. Test Prep. I can clearly remember Mr. Test Prep’s response when I said, “I’m no good at math and science.” He said, “Don’t think that way! These questions are easy if you think of them as easy. Michael Romano is the best. No exceptions. My first experience with SAT prep was with a not-so-great company, so I was at first reluctant to try Mr Test Prep. Boy, was I wrong — I should have started with him from the beginning! In the first half hour of the trial session he told me that I was probably better suited for the ACT. I tried my hand at that instead, and scored significantly higher. Mr Test Prep also helped me prepare for the PSAT, and now I am a National Merit Scholar.
