1-On-1 Online SAT Test Prep Coaches – Adjusting to the Coronavirus Crisis: Test Prep Classes Now Online

 
Test prep classes are now held through the online platform Zoom. They will last as long and cost the same as our in-person test prep sessions do.
 
Instead of doing work in a group setting, each student will study from home. The student is not going to have a session with me in person; rather, he or she will connect with me online.
 
Sessions are still being scheduled at http://www.mrtestprep.acuityscheduling.com
 
Your online SAT/ACT test prep appointment confirmation emails will have the Zoom meeting information.
 
When it is time for a practice test, it will be taken at home and then reviewed in our test prep sessions.
 
You will be billed through email.
 
This too shall pass hopefully sooner than later. For now, be safe and calm in the midst of the chaos.

When you imagine a test prep tutor, what kind of person do you think of?
I’m the type of person who never worked well with adults who tried to push me or made me feel stupid, and that’s why I was really reluctant to try SAT prep.
But Michael Romano surprised me by defying the stereotype of the traditional harsh, nitpicky tutor time and time again. He never forces students to study or do homework assignments, and because he did not, I felt genuinely inspired to put in the effort on my own behalf. Rather than someone else driving my progress, I felt as though I held the reigns to my own improvement on the SAT.
I won’t talk about how Michael comes up with neat strategies for the trickiest of math and reading problems, how he’s an endlessly patient teacher, or how he made every seemingly impossible question look easy and conquerable. Test Prep Sessions Now Online Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic
 
We are currently conducting all our free trial sessions and test prep online.
 
Once someone has scheduled a trial session, we will be meeting through the online platform Zoom.
 
It is best, if the student can stay undisturbed for two hours.
 
When you book your free trial session, the Zoom link and instructions will be provided.
 
I will be present for the first 15 minutes of the session.
 

 
Follow-Up After The Trial Session
 
After the trial session, I will get in touch with a parent and will discuss my test prep assessment and recommendations.
 
If your trial session takes place on Saturday, I will call you between 6 pm and 8 pm on the following Monday. If the trial session takes place on Sunday, I am going to call you between 6 pm and 8 pm on the following Tuesday.|If your trial session takes place on Saturday, I am going to contact the parent between 6 pm and 8 pm on the following Monday. If the trial session takes place on Sunday, I am going to contact the parent between 6 pm and 8 pm on the following Tuesday.

Mr. Romano is the best tutor I have ever worked with… EVER!! I had gone to previous SAT prep centers, but none of them gave me the help and results that Mr. Romano did! One thing that was different with Mr. Romano, was that I actually enjoyed attending his test preps, and would even look forward to them!! Mr. Romano is simply the best. Upon entering Mr. Romano’s test prep, I knew little about the SAT. The knowledge and wisdom that I inherited from Michael is truly priceless. While at Mr. Test Prep’s, Michael helped me zone in and conquer the areas in which I was struggling. Mr. Romano was very encouraging and supportive to me every time I was in his presence. I had gone to over three different standardized testing tutors in the Bay Area since my freshman year. All left me unsatisfied, with mediocre results and my mother constantly reprimanding me for spending so much money on multiple exams and different tutors. On a whim, we tried Mr. Test Prep. Many of my friends had gone to him and raved about how his tutoring style is unique, effective, and definitely worth the money. They all succeeded in their standardized test preps, why shouldn’t I?
I can clearly remember Mr. Test Prep’s response when I said, “I’m no good at math and science.” He said, “Don’t think that way! These questions are easy if you think of them as easy. Let me break ‘em down for you…” Ever since then, the ACT has not intimidated me with the daunting math and science sections. His tricks to make sure I didn’t make any “silly” mistakes even increased my scores to near-perfection in the subjects that I was stronger in – reading, writing, and English! Additionally, the group testing environment was insanely helpful in practicing what to expect during test day. Michael Romano is the best. No exceptions. My first experience with SAT prep was with a not-so-great company, so I was at first reluctant to try Mr Test Prep. Boy, was I wrong — I should have started with him from the beginning! In the first half hour of the trial session he told me that I was probably better suited for the ACT. I tried my hand at that instead, and scored significantly higher. Mr Test Prep also helped me prepare for the PSAT, and now I am a National Merit Scholar.
