Online One-On-One SAT Programs – Test Prep Sessions Currently Online Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic

 
Test prep classes are now conducted online through Zoom. They will last as long as our typical in-person test prep sessions and will also cost the same.
 
Instead of doing work within a group, he or she will work from home. Instead of having a session with me me in person, he or she is going to do so online.
 
Students are still able to schedule a session the same way like before at http://www.mrtestprep.acuityscheduling.com
 
When students schedule their appointments The Zoom link and instructions will be provided in the confirmation notifications.
 
If it is time for a practice test, it will be taken from your home and reviewed in the test prep classes.
 
You are going to be invoiced through e-mail.
 
This too shall pass hopefully sooner than later. For now, stay safe and calm amidst the chaos.

I  took the PSAT in 10th and 11th grade and found it utterly awful. I’ve never been a big fan of standardized tests, but I knew I’d have to take either the ACT or SAT in college. I was nervous about them because I didn’t score as well on the PSAT as I hoped. In 11th grade, I actually did worse on the PSAT than I did in 10th grade. I thought that this was a clear indicator that I would fail the SAT/ACT and wouldn’t get into a college that I loved. I started with Michael after a recommendation from my college counselor. I appreciated his unorthodox approach, but his encouragement sets Mr. Test Prep apart from other testing organizations. No other company has a Michael, so to speak. Of course, he taught me how to understand the structure of SAT questions, recognize patterns, and learn proper testing strategies. Unfortunately for me, I  am one of those people who do practice tests perfectly but score badly on actual tests. I just get jitters whenever I get to the testing room. Micheal realized this after my diagnostic test and recommended I meditate before taking the SAT or ACT. I was apprehensive during our practice sessions but I diligently practiced meditation at home. Finally, when it got to testing day I was unusually calm. Never beforehand was I that tranquil before taking a test, normally my heart pounds, my hands get sweaty, and I can’t think. On that day I felt as if everything was a walk in the park, everything came to me and nothing felt rushed. In the end, I was able to score a 35 on the ACT stress-free. What also helped my nervousness was Michael testing room. It was a perfect place to practice the SAT and ACT: full of students, quiet, and distraction free. It allowed me to simulate how it would feel like in a testing center without the hassle of going to one. In all, without Michael I probably wouldn’t have gotten the score that I got.

Adjusting to the COVID-19 Crisis: Trial Sessions Now Online
 
Until further notice, all our free trial sessions and test prep are conducted online.
 
Once you have booked a trial session, we will be connecting online using Zoom.
 
Each student will need a silent place where he or she can work for two hours without being disturbed.
 
When you book a free trial session, the Zoom meeting information will be sent along with your confirmation notification.
 
I will be present for the first 15 minutes of our session.
 

 
Follow-Up After The Trial Session
 
I will be in touch with a parent and will talk about my test prep assessment and recommendations in a follow-up phone call.
 
In case your trial session takes place on a Saturday, I will contact you between 6 pm and 8 pm on the following Monday. And if the trial session takes place on Sunday, I am going to contact you between 6 pm and 8 pm on the following Tuesday.|If your trial session is on a Saturday, I will call the parent between 6 pm and 8 pm on the following Monday. In case your trial session takes place on Sunday, I am going to call the parent between 6 pm and 8 pm on the following Tuesday.

Mr. Romano is the best tutor I have ever worked with… EVER!! I had gone to previous SAT prep centers, but none of them gave me the help and results that Mr. Romano did! One thing that was different with Mr. Romano, was that I actually enjoyed attending his test preps, and would even look forward to them!! Mr. Romano is simply the best. Upon entering Mr. Romano’s test prep, I knew little about the SAT. The knowledge and wisdom that I inherited from Michael is truly priceless. I had gone to over three different standardized testing tutors in the Bay Area since my freshman year. All left me unsatisfied, with mediocre results and my mother constantly reprimanding me for spending so much money on multiple exams and different tutors. On a whim, we tried Mr. Test Prep. Many of my friends had gone to him and raved about how his tutoring style is unique, effective, and definitely worth the money. They all succeeded in their standardized test preps, why shouldn’t I?
I can clearly remember Mr. Test Prep’s response when I said, “I’m no good at math and science.” He said, “Don’t think that way! These questions are easy if you think of them as easy. Let me break ‘em down for you…” Ever since then, the ACT has not intimidated me with the daunting math and science sections. His tricks to make sure I didn’t make any “silly” mistakes even increased my scores to near-perfection in the subjects that I was stronger in – reading, writing, and English! Michael Romano is the best. No exceptions. My first experience with SAT prep was with a not-so-great company, so I was at first reluctant to try Mr Test Prep. Boy, was I wrong — I should have started with him from the beginning! In the first half hour of the trial session he told me that I was probably better suited for the ACT. I tried my hand at that instead, and scored significantly higher. Mr Test Prep also helped me prepare for the PSAT, and now I am a National Merit Scholar.
