One-On-One Online ACT Programs – Adjusting to the Coronavirus Crisis: Test Prep Sessions Currently Online

 
Until further notice, we are conducting test prep classes online via Zoom. They will last as long as usual in-person test prep classes and are also going to cost the same.
 
Instead of studying in a group setting, he or she will work from home. And instead of sitting together with me in the same room, he or she will connect with me online.
 
Students can still schedule a session the same way like before at http://www.mrtestprep.acuityscheduling.com
 
When you schedule your appointments all the details needed to access the Zoom meeting will be included in the confirmation emails.
 
When recommended practice tests will be taken from your home and assessed in our test prep sessions.
 
You will be billed via email.
 
This too shall pass hopefully sooner than later. In the meanwhile, be safe and calm amidst the chaos.

Michael’s methodology is unlike any other tutor I’ve worked with before, and the results I got with him were unmatchable. The group setting allowed me to go back and forth between working on my own just like a testing setting AND breaking down my sections while they’re fresh in my mind. While many other tutors believe in using homework as a studying tool, whenever I would attend my next session with them,  I couldn’t remember why I chose the answers I did. By confining my work to my sessions with Michael, I was able to evaluate my thought process for each answer and correct my mistakes MUCH more efficiently.
 
Rather than most tutor’s standard lesson plan (even for one on one sessions), Michael tailors each session to what that individual student needs. My best sections were tested less frequently, and more time was spent on the sections I struggled with.
 
Michael understands the interplay between testing and his student’s mindset. As someone who struggles with anxiety, I have had extreme difficulty performing well on exams even when I know the material front to back. After two meditation sessions, I meditated every morning and night about a week preceding each of my SAT exams (as well as actually during my SAT) I felt less anxious, more at ease and extremely more confident.
 
What it boils down to is Michael truly understands his students and creates a relationship and bond with them like NO other tutor. He creates a completely safe space where mistakes aren’t scrutinized, they’re looked at as a place to improve. I improved my SAT score by about 350, but, beyond that, I can look back at my sessions with him and only have positive memories. Going to Michael was one of the best decisions I made. Trial Sessions in the Coronavirus Crisis
 
All our free trial sessions and test prep sessions are now held online.
 
For the trial session, we will be connecting online using Zoom.
 
In order to get the most out of the trial session, it is best for the student to stay undisturbed for the duration of the two hour trial session.
 
When you register for your free trial session, all the info needed for the Zoom meeting will be provided.
 
I am going to be present for the first 15 minutes of the session.
 

 
What Happens After The Trial Session?
 
After the trial session, a parent and I will have a follow-up discussion about my test prep assessment and recommendations.
 
If your trial session takes place on a Saturday, I will contact you between 6 pm and 8 pm on the following Monday. If the trial session is on Sunday, I will contact you between 6 pm and 8 pm on the following Tuesday.|If the trial session is on Saturday, I am going to call the parent between 6 pm and 8 pm on the following Monday. In case your trial session takes place on a Sunday, I am going to contact the parent between 6 pm and 8 pm on the following Tuesday.

Mr. Romano is the best tutor I have ever worked with… EVER!! I had gone to previous SAT prep centers, but none of them gave me the help and results that Mr. Romano did! One thing that was different with Mr. Romano, was that I actually enjoyed attending his test preps, and would even look forward to them!! Mr. Romano is simply the best. Upon entering Mr. Romano’s test prep, I knew little about the SAT. The knowledge and wisdom that I inherited from Michael is truly priceless. While at Mr. Test Prep’s, Michael helped me zone in and conquer the areas in which I was struggling. Mr. Romano was very encouraging and supportive to me every time I was in his presence. I had gone to over three different standardized testing tutors in the Bay Area since my freshman year. All left me unsatisfied, with mediocre results and my mother constantly reprimanding me for spending so much money on multiple exams and different tutors. On a whim, we tried Mr. Test Prep. Many of my friends had gone to him and raved about how his tutoring style is unique, effective, and definitely worth the money. They all succeeded in their standardized test preps, why shouldn’t I?
I can clearly remember Mr. Test Prep’s response when I said, “I’m no good at math and science.” He said, “Don’t think that way! These questions are easy if you think of them as easy. Let me break ‘em down for you…” Ever since then, the ACT has not intimidated me with the daunting math and science sections. His tricks to make sure I didn’t make any “silly” mistakes even increased my scores to near-perfection in the subjects that I was stronger in – reading, writing, and English! Michael Romano is the best. No exceptions. My first experience with SAT prep was with a not-so-great company, so I was at first reluctant to try Mr Test Prep. Boy, was I wrong — I should have started with him from the beginning! In the first half hour of the trial session he told me that I was probably better suited for the ACT. I tried my hand at that instead, and scored significantly higher. Mr Test Prep also helped me prepare for the PSAT, and now I am a National Merit Scholar.
