1-On-1 ACT Services Online – Test Prep During the COVID-19 Crisis

 
Test prep classes are currently held through the online platform Zoom. They are going to last as long and cost as much as our regular in-person test prep sessions do.
 
Now, the student will work from home, as opposed to doing work within a group. Instead of sitting with me in person, the student will connect with me via the online platform Zoom.
 
Students can still schedule a session the same way as before at http://www.mrtestprep.acuityscheduling.com
 
When you schedule your appointments all the details needed for accessing the Zoom meeting will be sent along with the confirmation notices.
 
If it is time for a practice test, it will be taken at home and then evaluated during the test prep classes.
 
You will be billed through e-mail.
 
This too shall pass hopefully sooner than later. Meanwhile, stay safe and calm in the midst of these unprecedented times.

When you imagine a test prep tutor, what kind of person do you think of?
I’m the type of person who never worked well with adults who tried to push me or made me feel stupid, and that’s why I was really reluctant to try SAT prep.
But Michael Romano surprised me by defying the stereotype of the traditional harsh, nitpicky tutor time and time again. He never forces students to study or do homework assignments, and because he did not, I felt genuinely inspired to put in the effort on my own behalf. Rather than someone else driving my progress, I felt as though I held the reigns to my own improvement on the SAT.
I won’t talk about how Michael comes up with neat strategies for the trickiest of math and reading problems, how he’s an endlessly patient teacher, or how he made every seemingly impossible question look easy and conquerable. Adjusting to the Coronavirus Pandemic: Trial Sessions Now Moving Online
 
For the time being, we are conducting all our free trial sessions and test prep sessions online.
 
Once you have scheduled a trial session, we will be meeting through the online platform Zoom.
 
To be able to get the most out of the trial session, the student will need a place to work where he or she will stay undisturbed for two hours.
 
Once you register for your free trial session, the Zoom link and instructions will be sent along with your confirmation email.
 
I will be in contact during the first 15 minutes of our trial session.
 

 
What Happens After The Trial Session?
 
After the trial session, I will be in touch with a parent and will talk about my test prep recommendations.
 
If the trial session takes place on Saturday, I am going to contact you between 6 pm and 8 pm on the following Monday. If your trial session is on Sunday, I will contact you between 6 pm and 8 pm on the following Tuesday.|If the trial session is on Saturday, I will contact the parent between 6 pm and 8 pm on the following Monday. And if your trial session takes place on Sunday, I will contact the parent between 6 pm and 8 pm on the following Tuesday.

Mr. Romano is simply the best. Upon entering Mr. Romano’s test prep, I knew little about the SAT. The knowledge and wisdom that I inherited from Michael is truly priceless. I had gone to over three different standardized testing tutors in the Bay Area since my freshman year. All left me unsatisfied, with mediocre results and my mother constantly reprimanding me for spending so much money on multiple exams and different tutors. On a whim, we tried Mr. Test Prep. Many of my friends had gone to him and raved about how his tutoring style is unique, effective, and definitely worth the money. They all succeeded in their standardized test preps, why shouldn’t I?
I can clearly remember Mr. Test Prep’s response when I said, “I’m no good at math and science.” He said, “Don’t think that way! These questions are easy if you think of them as easy. Let me break ‘em down for you…” Ever since then, the ACT has not intimidated me with the daunting math and science sections. Michael Romano is the best. No exceptions. My first experience with SAT prep was with a not-so-great company, so I was at first reluctant to try Mr Test Prep. Boy, was I wrong — I should have started with him from the beginning! In the first half hour of the trial session he told me that I was probably better suited for the ACT. I tried my hand at that instead, and scored significantly higher. Mr Test Prep also helped me prepare for the PSAT, and now I am a National Merit Scholar.
