Online test prep classes – How are online test prep classes different?

  • Instead of studying in a group setting, the student studies from home. Instead of meeting with me in person, he or she is going to do so virtually.
  • Online sessions are being scheduled the same way at http://www.mrtestprep.acuityscheduling.com
  • When students schedule their appointments The Zoom link and instructions will be sent along with the confirmation notices.
  • Whenever it is time for a practice test, it will be taken from your home and then reviewed during our test prep sessions.
  • You will be invoiced through e-mail.

I was very opposed to taking the SAT and enrolling in SAT prep when I learned that it was optional for college admissions. I was more comfortable asserting myself as a low performer, and just not great with long form tests. When you imagine a test prep tutor, what kind of person do you think of?
I’m the type of person who never worked well with adults who tried to push me or made me feel stupid, and that’s why I was really reluctant to try SAT prep.
But Michael Romano surprised me by defying the stereotype of the traditional harsh, nitpicky tutor time and time again. He never forces students to study or do homework assignments, and because he did not, I felt genuinely inspired to put in the effort on my own behalf. Rather than someone else driving my progress, I felt as though I held the reigns to my own improvement on the SAT.

What Happens After The Trial Session?
 
I will get in touch with a parent and will talk about my test prep recommendations during a follow-up phone call.
 
If the trial session takes place on a Saturday, I am going to call the parent between 6 pm and 8 pm on the following Monday. And if the trial session is on Sunday, I will contact the parent between 6 pm and 8 pm on the following Tuesday.

I had gone to over three different standardized testing tutors in the Bay Area since my freshman year. All left me unsatisfied, with mediocre results and my mother constantly reprimanding me for spending so much money on multiple exams and different tutors. On a whim, we tried Mr. Test Prep. Many of my friends had gone to him and raved about how his tutoring style is unique, effective, and definitely worth the money. They all succeeded in their standardized test preps, why shouldn’t I?
I can clearly remember Mr. Test Prep’s response when I said, “I’m no good at math and science.” He said, “Don’t think that way! These questions are easy if you think of them as easy. Let me break ‘em down for you…” Ever since then, the ACT has not intimidated me with the daunting math and science sections. His tricks to make sure I didn’t make any “silly” mistakes even increased my scores to near-perfection in the subjects that I was stronger in – reading, writing, and English! Michael Romano is the best. No exceptions. My first experience with SAT prep was with a not-so-great company, so I was at first reluctant to try Mr Test Prep. Boy, was I wrong — I should have started with him from the beginning! In the first half hour of the trial session he told me that I was probably better suited for the ACT.
