Online test prep classes – What is different compared to in-person classes?

  • During the online classes, he or she works from home, as opposed to studying in a group setting. And instead of sitting together with me in person, the student will meet with me through the online platform Zoom.
  • Online sessions will be scheduled at http://www.mrtestprep.acuityscheduling.com
  • The scheduled online SAT/ACT test prep appointment confirmation notifications are going to have the Zoom link and instructions.
  • When it is time for a practice test, it will be taken from your home and then assessed during the test prep classes.
  • You will be invoiced via email.

I was very opposed to taking the SAT and enrolling in SAT prep when I learned that it was optional for college admissions. I was more comfortable asserting myself as a low performer, and just not great with long form tests. When you imagine a test prep tutor, what kind of person do you think of?
I’m the type of person who never worked well with adults who tried to push me or made me feel stupid, and that’s why I was really reluctant to try SAT prep.
But Michael Romano surprised me by defying the stereotype of the traditional harsh, nitpicky tutor time and time again. He never forces students to study or do homework assignments, and because he did not, I felt genuinely inspired to put in the effort on my own behalf. Rather than someone else driving my progress, I felt as though I held the reigns to my own improvement on the SAT.
I won’t talk about how Michael comes up with neat strategies for the trickiest of math and reading problems, how he’s an endlessly patient teacher, or how he made every seemingly impossible question look easy and conquerable. Online Trial Sessions
 
The free trial sessions are held online, as well.
 
For the trial session, we will be meeting using the online platform Zoom.
 
It is best, if the student can remain uninterrupted for the duration of the two hour trial session.
 
Once you register for your free trial session, the Zoom link and instructions will be provided.
 
I am going to be present for the first 15 minutes of the session.
 

 
After The Trial Session
 
I will be in touch with a parent and will discuss my test prep recommendations in a follow-up phone call.
 
In case your trial session is on Saturday, I will contact the parent between 6 pm and 8 pm on the following Monday. And if your trial session takes place on a Sunday, I am going to call the parent between 6 pm and 8 pm on the following Tuesday.

I had gone to over three different standardized testing tutors in the Bay Area since my freshman year. All left me unsatisfied, with mediocre results and my mother constantly reprimanding me for spending so much money on multiple exams and different tutors. On a whim, we tried Mr. Test Prep. Michael Romano is the best. No exceptions. My first experience with SAT prep was with a not-so-great company, so I was at first reluctant to try Mr Test Prep. Boy, was I wrong — I should have started with him from the beginning! In the first half hour of the trial session he told me that I was probably better suited for the ACT. I tried my hand at that instead, and scored significantly higher. Mr Test Prep also helped me prepare for the PSAT, and now I am a National Merit Scholar.
