We have seen our best test prep results since we had to switch to an online format in March 2020. Because of that, test prep classes continue to be offered online using Zoom. Below you will find more information about how our online format works.
 

Online test prep classes – How is an online session different?

  • Instead of doing work within a group, the student studies from home. And instead of having a session with me me in person, he or she will do so virtually.
  • Students can schedule online sessions at http://www.mrtestprep.acuityscheduling.com
  • Your scheduled online SAT/ACT test prep appointment confirmation emails are going to have all the information you will need to access the Zoom meeting.
  • When recommended practice tests will be taken at home and then reviewed during the test prep classes.
  • You are going to be invoiced via email.

Unfortunately for me, I am one of those people who do practice tests perfectly but score badly on actual tests. I just get jitters whenever I get to the testing room. Micheal realized this after my diagnostic test and recommended I meditate before taking the SAT or ACT. I was apprehensive during our practice sessions but I diligently practiced meditation at home. Finally, when it got to testing day I was unusually calm. Never beforehand was I that tranquil before taking a test, normally my heart pounds, my hands get sweaty, and I can’t think. On that day I felt as if everything was a walk in the park, everything came to me and nothing felt rushed. In the end, I was able to score a 35 on the ACT stress-free. What also helped my nervousness was Michael testing room. It was a perfect place to practice the SAT and ACT: full of students, quiet, and distraction free. It allowed me to simulate how it would feel like in a testing center without the hassle of going to one. In all, without Michael I probably wouldn’t have gotten the score that I got.

Free Online Trial Sessions
 
The free trial sessions are also held online.
 
Once someone has scheduled a trial session, we will be connecting using the online platform Zoom.
 
It is best, if the student can stay undisturbed for the duration of the two hour trial session.
 
Once you register for your free trial session, all the details needed for the Zoom meeting will be sent along with your confirmation notification.
 
I am going to be present for the first 15 minutes of our trial session.
 

 
What Happens After The Trial Session?
 
I will connect with a parent and will discuss my test prep recommendations during a follow-up call.
 
If your trial session is on a Saturday, I am going to contact the parent between 6 pm and 8 pm on the following Monday. In case your trial session takes place on a Sunday, I will contact the parent between 6 pm and 8 pm on the following Tuesday.

I had gone to over three different standardized testing tutors in the Bay Area since my freshman year. All left me unsatisfied, with mediocre results and my mother constantly reprimanding me for spending so much money on multiple exams and different tutors. On a whim, we tried Mr. Test Prep. I can clearly remember Mr. Test Prep’s response when I said, “I’m no good at math and science.” He said, “Don’t think that way! These questions are easy if you think of them as easy. Michael Romano is the best. No exceptions. My first experience with SAT prep was with a not-so-great company, so I was at first reluctant to try Mr Test Prep. Boy, was I wrong — I should have started with him from the beginning! In the first half hour of the trial session he told me that I was probably better suited for the ACT.
