We have seen our best test prep results since we had to switch to an online format in March 2020. Because of that, we continue to offer SAT and ACT test prep classes through the online platform Zoom. See below for more information about how our online test prep classes are structured.
 

Online test prep sessions – How is the online test prep session different?

  • During the online classes, the student studies from home, as opposed to working within a group. And instead of meeting me in person, he or she will do so virtually.
  • Online sessions will be scheduled at http://www.mrtestprep.acuityscheduling.com
  • The Zoom meeting details will be provided in your appointment confirmation notices.
  • If practice tests are recommended, they will be taken from your home and evaluated in our test prep sessions.
  • You will be invoiced via e-mail.

Michael’s methodology is unlike any other tutor I’ve worked with before, and the results I got with him were unmatchable. The group setting allowed me to go back and forth between working on my own just like a testing setting AND breaking down my sections while they’re fresh in my mind. While many other tutors believe in using homework as a studying tool, whenever I would attend my next session with them, I couldn’t remember why I chose the answers I did. By confining my work to my sessions with Michael, I was able to evaluate my thought process for each answer and correct my mistakes MUCH more efficiently.
 
Rather than most tutor’s standard lesson plan (even for one on one sessions), Michael tailors each session to what that individual student needs. My best sections were tested less frequently, and more time was spent on the sections I struggled with.
 
Michael understands the interplay between testing and his student’s mindset. As someone who struggles with anxiety, I have had extreme difficulty performing well on exams even when I know the material front to back. After two meditation sessions, I meditated every morning and night about a week preceding each of my SAT exams (as well as actually during my SAT) I felt less anxious, more at ease and extremely more confident.
 
What it boils down to is Michael truly understands his students and creates a relationship and bond with them like NO other tutor. He creates a completely safe space where mistakes aren’t scrutinized, they’re looked at as a place to improve. I improved my SAT score by about 350, but, beyond that, I can look back at my sessions with him and only have positive memories. Going to Michael was one of the best decisions I made. Free Test Prep Trial Sessions Online
 
The free trial sessions are conducted online, as well.
 
Once someone has booked a trial session, we will be meeting using the online platform Zoom.
 
Each student will require a place to work where he or she can remain undisturbed for two hours.
 
When you sign up for your free trial session, the Zoom meeting details will be provided in your confirmation notification.
 
I am going to be in contact during the first 15 minutes of our trial session.
 

 
After The Trial Session
 
I will be in touch with a parent and will discuss my test prep advice in a follow-up phone call.
 
In case your trial session takes place on a Saturday, I will contact you between 6 pm and 8 pm on the following Monday. If your trial session takes place on Sunday, I will call you between 6 pm and 8 pm on the following Tuesday.

Mr. Romano is simply the best. Upon entering Mr. Romano’s test prep, I knew little about the SAT. The knowledge and wisdom that I inherited from Michael is truly priceless. I had gone to over three different standardized testing tutors in the Bay Area since my freshman year. All left me unsatisfied, with mediocre results and my mother constantly reprimanding me for spending so much money on multiple exams and different tutors. On a whim, we tried Mr. Test Prep. I can clearly remember Mr. Test Prep’s response when I said, “I’m no good at math and science.” He said, “Don’t think that way! These questions are easy if you think of them as easy. Michael Romano is the best. No exceptions. My first experience with SAT prep was with a not-so-great company, so I was at first reluctant to try Mr Test Prep. Boy, was I wrong — I should have started with him from the beginning! In the first half hour of the trial session he told me that I was probably better suited for the ACT. I tried my hand at that instead, and scored significantly higher. Mr Test Prep also helped me prepare for the PSAT, and now I am a National Merit Scholar.
