Online 1-On-1 ACT Test Prep Coaches – Test Prep During the COVID-19 Crisis

 
Test prep sessions are now conducted through the online platform Zoom. They will last as long as in-person test prep classes and are also going to cost the same.
 
Instead of doing work in a group setting, the student will study from home. And instead of sitting together with me in the same room, the student will meet with me online.
 
Students can still schedule a session the same way as before at http://www.mrtestprep.acuityscheduling.com
 
When you schedule your appointments the Zoom meeting details will be included in the confirmation notices.
 
When practice tests are recommended, they will be taken at home and then evaluated during our test prep classes.
 
You will be invoiced through e-mail.
 
This too shall pass hopefully sooner than later. For now, stay safe and calm amid the chaos.

When you imagine a test prep tutor, what kind of person do you think of?
I’m the type of person who never worked well with adults who tried to push me or made me feel stupid, and that’s why I was really reluctant to try SAT prep.
But Michael Romano surprised me by defying the stereotype of the traditional harsh, nitpicky tutor time and time again. He never forces students to study or do homework assignments, and because he did not, I felt genuinely inspired to put in the effort on my own behalf. Rather than someone else driving my progress, I felt as though I held the reigns to my own improvement on the SAT.
I won’t talk about how Michael comes up with neat strategies for the trickiest of math and reading problems, how he’s an endlessly patient teacher, or how he made every seemingly impossible question look easy and conquerable. He did all of these things. But I think what truly makes Michael special is the effort he puts into each relationship with his students. He’s always positive, he always makes you feel that you are smart and capable of accomplishing things.

As a high school student, it’s pretty common to get extremely stressed out about standardized testing. But “stressed” is the last word I would ever use to describe Michael’s personality. Stress is contagious, and Michael knows this, so his test prep environment is calming and peaceful.  He never gets upset with you for making mistakes; he’s never disappointed as long as you put in the effort. Trial Sessions in the Coronavirus Pandemic
 
All our free trial sessions and test prep classes are currently conducted online.
 
Once someone has scheduled a trial session, we will be connecting online using Zoom.
 
To be able to get the most out of the trial session, it is best for the student to stay undisturbed for two hours.
 
Once you sign up for a free trial session, the Zoom meeting information will be provided.
 
I will be present for the first 15 minutes of the trial session.
 

 
The next Step After The Trial Session
 
I will connect with a parent and will talk about my test prep suggestions in a follow-up phone call.
 
If your trial session takes place on a Saturday, I am going to contact you between 6 pm and 8 pm on the following Monday. And if the trial session takes place on Sunday, I am going to contact you between 6 pm and 8 pm on the following Tuesday.|If the trial session takes place on a Saturday, I am going to call the parent between 6 pm and 8 pm on the following Monday. And in case your trial session is on a Sunday, I am going to contact the parent between 6 pm and 8 pm on the following Tuesday.

Mr. Romano is the best tutor I have ever worked with… EVER!! I had gone to previous SAT prep centers, but none of them gave me the help and results that Mr. Romano did! One thing that was different with Mr. Romano, was that I actually enjoyed attending his test preps, and would even look forward to them!! Mr. Romano is simply the best. Upon entering Mr. Romano’s test prep, I knew little about the SAT. The knowledge and wisdom that I inherited from Michael is truly priceless. While at Mr. Test Prep’s, Michael helped me zone in and conquer the areas in which I was struggling. Mr. Romano was very encouraging and supportive to me every time I was in his presence. I had gone to over three different standardized testing tutors in the Bay Area since my freshman year. All left me unsatisfied, with mediocre results and my mother constantly reprimanding me for spending so much money on multiple exams and different tutors. On a whim, we tried Mr. Test Prep. Many of my friends had gone to him and raved about how his tutoring style is unique, effective, and definitely worth the money. They all succeeded in their standardized test preps, why shouldn’t I?
I can clearly remember Mr. Test Prep’s response when I said, “I’m no good at math and science.” He said, “Don’t think that way! These questions are easy if you think of them as easy. Let me break ‘em down for you…” Ever since then, the ACT has not intimidated me with the daunting math and science sections. His tricks to make sure I didn’t make any “silly” mistakes even increased my scores to near-perfection in the subjects that I was stronger in – reading, writing, and English! Additionally, the group testing environment was insanely helpful in practicing what to expect during test day. Michael Romano is the best. No exceptions. My first experience with SAT prep was with a not-so-great company, so I was at first reluctant to try Mr Test Prep. Boy, was I wrong — I should have started with him from the beginning! In the first half hour of the trial session he told me that I was probably better suited for the ACT. I tried my hand at that instead, and scored significantly higher. Mr Test Prep also helped me prepare for the PSAT, and now I am a National Merit Scholar.
