1-On-1 ACT Courses Online – Adjusting to the COVID-19 Crisis: Test Prep Sessions Now Moving Online

 
We are currently leading SAT and ACT test prep classes via the online platform Zoom. The length and the cost of the online test prep classes are the same as the typical in-person test prep sessions.
 
Instead of doing work within a group, the student will work from home. The student is not going to have a session with me in person; instead, he or she will meet with me via the online platform Zoom.
 
Students are still able to schedule sessions the same way as before at http://www.mrtestprep.acuityscheduling.com
 
All the information you will need for the Zoom meeting will be provided in the scheduled appointment confirmation emails.
 
When recommended practice tests will be taken at home and then reviewed in our test prep sessions.
 
You are going to be invoiced via email.
 
This too shall pass hopefully sooner than later. Meanwhile, stay safe and calm in the midst of the chaos.

Michael’s methodology is unlike any other tutor I’ve worked with before, and the results I got with him were unmatchable. The group setting allowed me to go back and forth between working on my own just like a testing setting AND breaking down my sections while they’re fresh in my mind. While many other tutors believe in using homework as a studying tool, whenever I would attend my next session with them,  I couldn’t remember why I chose the answers I did. By confining my work to my sessions with Michael, I was able to evaluate my thought process for each answer and correct my mistakes MUCH more efficiently.
 
Rather than most tutor’s standard lesson plan (even for one on one sessions), Michael tailors each session to what that individual student needs. My best sections were tested less frequently, and more time was spent on the sections I struggled with.
 
Michael understands the interplay between testing and his student’s mindset. As someone who struggles with anxiety, I have had extreme difficulty performing well on exams even when I know the material front to back. After two meditation sessions, I meditated every morning and night about a week preceding each of my SAT exams (as well as actually during my SAT) I felt less anxious, more at ease and extremely more confident.
 
What it boils down to is Michael truly understands his students and creates a relationship and bond with them like NO other tutor. He creates a completely safe space where mistakes aren’t scrutinized, they’re looked at as a place to improve. We are currently holding all our free trial sessions and test prep classes online.
 
For the trial session, we will be connecting online via Zoom.
 
To get the most out of the trial session, it is best for the student to be able to work uninterrupted for the duration of the two hour trial session.
 
When you book your free trial session, all the information needed to access the Zoom meeting will be provided.
 
I am going to be present for the first 15 minutes of the session.
 

 
After The Trial Session
 
After the trial session, I will be in touch with a parent and will discuss my test prep suggestions.
 
If the trial session is on a Saturday, I will call you between 6 pm and 8 pm on the following Monday. In case your trial session takes place on a Sunday, I will contact you between 6 pm and 8 pm on the following Tuesday.|If your trial session is on a Saturday, I will contact the parent between 6 pm and 8 pm on the following Monday. Mr. Romano is simply the best. Upon entering Mr. Romano’s test prep, I knew little about the SAT. The knowledge and wisdom that I inherited from Michael is truly priceless. I had gone to over three different standardized testing tutors in the Bay Area since my freshman year. All left me unsatisfied, with mediocre results and my mother constantly reprimanding me for spending so much money on multiple exams and different tutors. On a whim, we tried Mr. Test Prep. Many of my friends had gone to him and raved about how his tutoring style is unique, effective, and definitely worth the money. They all succeeded in their standardized test preps, why shouldn’t I?
I can clearly remember Mr. Test Prep’s response when I said, “I’m no good at math and science.” He said, “Don’t think that way! These questions are easy if you think of them as easy. Let me break ‘em down for you…” Ever since then, the ACT has not intimidated me with the daunting math and science sections. His tricks to make sure I didn’t make any “silly” mistakes even increased my scores to near-perfection in the subjects that I was stronger in – reading, writing, and English! Michael Romano is the best. No exceptions. My first experience with SAT prep was with a not-so-great company, so I was at first reluctant to try Mr Test Prep. Boy, was I wrong — I should have started with him from the beginning! In the first half hour of the trial session he told me that I was probably better suited for the ACT. I tried my hand at that instead, and scored significantly higher. Mr Test Prep also helped me prepare for the PSAT, and now I am a National Merit Scholar.
