Online test prep sessions – What is different compared to in-person test prep classes?

  • During the online classes, the student studies from home, as opposed to doing work within a group. The student will not have a session with me in person; instead, he or she will connect with me online.
  • Online sessions will continue to be scheduled at http://www.mrtestprep.acuityscheduling.com
  • The scheduled online SAT/ACT test prep appointment confirmation notices are going to have the Zoom link and instructions.
  • When needed practice tests will be taken from your home and then assessed in the test prep classes.
  • You will be invoiced through email.

When you imagine a test prep tutor, what kind of person do you think of?
I’m the type of person who never worked well with adults who tried to push me or made me feel stupid, and that’s why I was really reluctant to try SAT prep.
But Michael Romano surprised me by defying the stereotype of the traditional harsh, nitpicky tutor time and time again. He never forces students to study or do homework assignments, and because he did not, I felt genuinely inspired to put in the effort on my own behalf. Rather than someone else driving my progress, I felt as though I held the reigns to my own improvement on the SAT.

Our free trial sessions are held online, as well.
 
For the trial session, we will be connecting online using Zoom.
 
Each student is going to need a place to work where he or she can remain undisturbed for two hours.
 
Once you sign up for your free trial session, all the information needed to access the Zoom meeting will be provided in your confirmation email.
 
I am going to be in touch during the first 15 minutes of our trial session.

A parent and I will have a follow-up discussion about my test prep advice.
 
If the trial session takes place on a Saturday, I am going to contact the parent between 6 pm and 8 pm on the following Monday. In case your trial session takes place on Sunday, I am going to contact the parent between 6 pm and 8 pm on the following Tuesday.

Mr. Romano is simply the best. Upon entering Mr. Romano’s test prep, I knew little about the SAT. The knowledge and wisdom that I inherited from Michael is truly priceless. I had gone to over three different standardized testing tutors in the Bay Area since my freshman year. All left me unsatisfied, with mediocre results and my mother constantly reprimanding me for spending so much money on multiple exams and different tutors. On a whim, we tried Mr. Test Prep. I can clearly remember Mr. Test Prep’s response when I said, “I’m no good at math and science.” He said, “Don’t think that way! These questions are easy if you think of them as easy. Michael Romano is the best. No exceptions. My first experience with SAT prep was with a not-so-great company, so I was at first reluctant to try Mr Test Prep. Boy, was I wrong — I should have started with him from the beginning! In the first half hour of the trial session he told me that I was probably better suited for the ACT. I tried my hand at that instead, and scored significantly higher. Mr Test Prep also helped me prepare for the PSAT, and now I am a National Merit Scholar.
