It is possible to get an A on a test you didn’t study for. However, do you want an A because you got lucky or because you know the material? When you don’t study, you may have the test taking skills to get a good grade on the exam, but you are cheating yourself. As you continue in your education, your knowledge builds and you keep adding to the content you have already learned. If you don’t invest in yourself in what you are learning, your courses will only get more and more difficult. And you won’t be able to fake your way to an A any more.
Make a Study Plan
You can prevent going into an exam unprepared. A few minutes of study every day can help you get ready for a test. Look over your notes, read your texts, and write a quick summary of what you learned that day. This will set you up for an easy review for your test. Plan a few hours the weekend before your test to review you notes and texts. Try some study methods such as flashcards, practice problems, and even reading your notes out loud. This simple method for arranging your studies will ensure that you are not caught off guard the day before the test.
Don’t Cram
Even if you don’t study, you do not want to stay up all night cramming before the test. Loosing out on sleep will prevent your brain from focusing and concentrating. Review what you can before you go to sleep and then get a good night’s rest. At the very least, your focus and critical thinking skills will be sharp and you may be able to work out an A on the test.
Invest A Few Minutes a Day
Your best plan for getting an A on a test is to study. You may be able to fall back on intuitive test taking skills to get a good score, but in the long run, you will continue to feel behind. With a little planning and a few minutes studying each day, you can be prepared for your next exam.
