A practice schedule can help you have attainable and measurable goals when it comes to SAT prep.

Practicing the SAT will help you develop the skills you need to excel on the test and it will help you

discover problem areas that need more attention. There are a variety of ways to develop a practice

schedule. You need to choose the methods that are right for you. Here are a few suggestions.

Timed Practice Tests

You should take a timed practice test several times before the exam. You may want to schedule a date to

take a practice test each month until the exam. If you take a timed practice exam at least once a month,

you can track your improvement and tweak your study methods so that you can attain you desired score.

One Task Every Day

Do one simple thing to prepare for the SATs every day. You may want to do the same thing every day,

such as practicing vocabulary flash cards every night before going to bed. Alternatively, you could set a

weekly schedule such as two practice questions on Monday, vocabulary flashcards on Tuesday, reading

comprehension on Wednesday, etc… No matter what method you choose, make sure you stick to it every

day. Remember these daily tasks are in addition to a few hours a week of more in depth study.

Schedule a Study Group

Studying with friends or a tutor will hold you accountable to your study goals. You don’t want to show up

to a study group unprepared. Schedule a study group once a week or every other week to check in with

each other and offer test prep tips. Mr. Test Prep can offer helpful test prep methods specific to the exam

you taking. If you are studying with friends, make sure your study group stays on task and productive.

Read

It cannot be emphasized enough that reading every day will help your SAT scores. Set aside a few

minutes to read every day. Move outside of your comfort zone and choose materials that are challenging.

In addition to reading, take time to discuss what you are reading with friends or family. Discussion will

ensure that you are comprehending and interpreting the material.

Create You Schedule Today

Creating a practice schedule will ensure that you will enter the SAT prepared and confident. Knowing

exactly what you will do each day to prepare will prevent you from procrastinating. You can cross

something specific off of your test prep list daily. A practice schedule will also ensure days reserved for

timed practice tests, which are essential for scoring well on the SAT. Make your practice schedule today!

More About Mr. Test Prep’s Los Gatos SAT Test Prep Services

Michael Romano has been offering his Los Gatos SAT prep services for almost two decades. He’s seen thousands of kids and helped with just about every kind of standardized testing anxiety a student could have. This has taught him that increased scores come down to confidence. Yes, you have to understand the material, but confidence is—more often than not—the #1 cause of a student’s trouble with testing. Bearing that in mind, he has created an SAT tutoring program that builds confidence by desensitizing his students to the conditions of the test, while providing them with targeted instruction on both the academic content of the exam and the tips and tricks that make it so much easier.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
