Until further notice, test prep sessions are conducted using the online platform Zoom. They are going to last as long and cost the same as our in-person test prep sessions do.
Instead of studying within a group, each student will work from home. Instead of sitting with me in person, he or she will meet with me online.
Students can still schedule sessions the same way like before at http://www.mrtestprep.acuityscheduling.com
The scheduled online ACT/SAT test prep appointment confirmation notifications will have all the info you will need for the Zoom meeting.
When recommended practice tests will be taken from your home and then reviewed during our test prep classes.
You will be billed via email.
This too shall pass hopefully sooner than later. In the meanwhile, stay safe and calm amid these unprecedented times.
Warmly,
Michael
Mr. Test Prep, Michael Romano, describes himself as making a “genuine connection with each student”. That’s truly what makes him special. He really ‘gets’ his students. He’s so cool he even hit the basketball court with my son and his friends! This chemistry enabled Michael to be both encouraging and direct with my student, like the best kind of coach. Michael set high but achievable goals, and nudged my student forward when he saw more potential. My son began working with Michael in the fall of 11th grade, prior to the junior year PSAT. As a result of that early practice and confidence building with Michael, my son received a high enough score on his PSAT to qualify as a National Merit Scholar Finalist. His top 1% PSAT test scores, followed by high ACT scores, absolutely and measurably opened college doors for my son. We appreciated that Michael had our son try both the SAT and ACT, and actually take both the SAT and ACT exams. Michael has been doing this long enough to have a data centered approach as to why he has students try both tests; he knows what he’s doing. Ultimately, my son was accepted to his dream school UCLA.

Unfortunately for me, I am one of those people who do practice tests perfectly but score badly on actual tests. I just get jitters whenever I get to the testing room. Micheal realized this after my diagnostic test and recommended I meditate before taking the SAT or ACT. I was apprehensive during our practice sessions but I diligently practiced meditation at home. Finally, when it got to testing day I was unusually calm. Never beforehand was I that tranquil before taking a test, normally my heart pounds, my hands get sweaty, and I can’t think. On that day I felt as if everything was a walk in the park, everything came to me and nothing felt rushed. In the end, I was able to score a 35 on the ACT stress-free. What also helped my nervousness was Michael testing room. It was a perfect place to practice the SAT and ACT: full of students, quiet, and distraction free. It allowed me to simulate how it would feel like in a testing center without the hassle of going to one. In all, without Michael I probably wouldn’t have gotten the score that I got.

We were referred to Michael from a friend. The time my son spent with Michael was invaluable. After just two sessions with Michael, my son took the ACT for the first time- scoring a composite of 32 (scoring 35/36 in every subject except English). The next few sessions with Michael were spent mostly on English. The second time my son took the ACT he scored a composite of 35 with a 12 on the writing portion. Michael understands how to communicate with this age group and connect with the kids as individuals. He teaches techniques, strategies, and how to lower anxiety, all on an individualized basis. My son felt so confident before the second test. He said he knew exactly what he needed to do to succeed. My son also scored 790 and 800 on two SAT Subject Tests, which he worked on in one session with Michael. Our daughter will be going to Michael in a few years. Highly recommend.
The numbers don’t lie.

My son’s ACT score improved by 7 points and SAT score by 200 points directly from Mr Test Prep’s tutoring. These new scores are absolute game changers for my son’s college list. We looked at other tutors in Menlo Park and Palo Alto and ultimately chose Michael Romano because of his smart and unique approach. These are the three things that make his approach different from others and much more effective:
Michael Romano is the best at what he does.
